Babybites & In Good Company Workplaces Present:
Have Your Baby And Your Business Too!

Motherhood is an incredible time to re-evaluate your professional goals and opportunities. In recent years, starting your own business has become an increasingly popular option for new moms.
For some women, starting their own business is a dream that they have always had, while for others it is an option they have only begun to consider. Often going back to a former career proves to be an unappealing option, and going out on their own seems to be the best way to attain the balance, flexibility, autonomy, and creative outlet that they desire.
Regardless of the origin, the questions are inevitable…Is it possible? What should I know? Where do I to start?
Come join In Good Company Workplaces and BabyBites for an evening of discussion with several successful moms who have created awesome business to meet their creative, professional and family needs. Speakers include:

Cecily Kellogg
has been writing forever, but pretty much sucked at it until the mind
90’s. She started her blog “And I Wasted All That Birth Control” to
chronicle her infertility journey in 2004, but after her daughter was
finally born in 2006 she changed the name to Uppercase Woman. Cecily
blogs about life, politics (she’s ridiculously liberal), her love of
movies, and her sobriety and constant (mostly unsuccessful) search for
a spiritual life. She also blogs occasionally at the Philly Moms Blog,
and has done professional blogging for a variety of clients. In her
professional life she writes copy for the web, and is currently the
Blogger Relations consultant at Eden Fantasys, a sex toy company. Yes,
you CAN get a cool job from blogging, and Cecily proves it. www.uppercasewoman.com
Hannah Macdonald, a former marketing executive for Tommy Hilfiger, and SaSaDi Odunsi, formally of luxury retailer Cashmere Aspen, initially met in a prenatal yoga class. They became friends in mommy & baby yoga after their sons Auden & Ethan were born in 2006. Immersed in Park Slope’s unique parenting community, they gained an intimate understanding of Brooklyn’s stylish, sophisticated pregnant set and realized they had more in common than motherhood: they shared a passion for fashion and the years of experience needed to pull off a successful fashion venture designed for moms like them. After surveying their local network of moms and seeking out cutting-edge collections, Hannah and SaSaDi opened Bump in June 2007. http://www.bumpbrooklyn.com/
